So when you have the divine love aspect in ample amount, you will experience great connection with others, a great sense of communion and community.

You will be able to easily ask for help and give help. You will experience generosity from a place of love and selflessness.

Now, remember, a lot of people mistake people for pleasing with compassion. They are not the same thing. So if somebody is manipulating you in a way –

“I am sick, take care of me”. Even when that person has abused you in the past. If you feel obligated to help that person thinking that – “Hey, who is going to take care of them if it’s not for me”, then that is not the right application of divine love. That is a lack of divine light and a bad application of divine love because you are not acting from a place of self-love.

Understand this – Love is not just about giving to others. Love is also filling your own cup. If you don’t have your cup filled, then how are you going to fill other people’s cups? Trying to meet everybody’s expectations is not compassion or love. That is people pleasing. That comes from a place of anxiety.

And a lot of you who are into personal development and self-awareness are slowly and gradually becoming aware of this. So, a person who has a divine love aspect blooming in them will know when to set boundaries, when to say- “Hey, I would love to help, but right now I’m not in that place to do so. I need to tend to myself “. And not feel any shame or guilt about it.

So if you are not loving yourself, you cannot be loving to others because you don’t what love is or loving yourself is.

Loving yourself is prioritizing yourself first, and a lot of people equate that with selfishness. Well, there is a difference between taking care of yourself and being selfish. Being selfish is only thinking about your own self and not how your behavior or actions impact others.

Selfish people actually don’t know that they are selfish and hence they don’t ever experience guilt or shame about being selfish. And that is the delusion of selfishness that is created. That’s why they can shamelessly keep on extracting things from others for their own benefit without giving anything in return.

So ask yourself, are you giving from a place of love and generosity? Or out of obligation? Or out of a transactional relationship? “Oh, if I give this and I’m going to get that” – that is a transactional relationship. That’s not love.

This is the reason why you need the divine light aspect so that you can discern the difference between what is love and what is not love.

One of the important factors of divine light is discernment. Whereas one of the important factors of love is connection. Connecting with others from a place of true care, truly wanting good for somebody because you care for them. You wish them well, and you really love them, but not at the expense of your own well-being.
